Our Parent Council has been in operation since September 2015 and together we have achieved some amazing things.

We started our Parent Council because we wanted to forge closer links with our parents. We are like a PTA – our main aim was not initially to raise money, but as time went on our Parent Council members made it clear that fundraising was what they thought we should be doing. It does make sense that our community here at school organise get-togethers for both children and parents and if we make money out of that, then it is our children who benefit.

Amongst other things we have bought new school football and athletic kits plus tabards for school sporting activities, and a visualiser for the Art Studio. We also bought the fabulous Pirate Ship in the school grounds, which is very well used.

We are here to support the school

We:

• meet up regularly - at least once a month
• organise events at school: activities for the children and the school fairs
• give our views and brainstorm
• gather information from other parents and report back
• give our time when we can to help at school events
• fundraise by arranging school events, from cake/lolly sales to action packed fairs
• are friendly and welcoming and have a laugh together
