Child protection and safeguarding at Manorfield Primary & Nursery School
‘Safeguarding is everyone’s concern’
At Manorfield safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. We want both children and adults to feel safe in our school, in an environment where they can talk openly, be listened to, and know that they will be taken seriously and supported if they are worried.
We recognise our moral and statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children. To do this, we work in partnership with other agencies, and at times it may be necessary to share information with them. Wherever possible, we will keep parents informed of any safeguarding concerns, unless we believe that doing so would compromise a child’s safety.
We have statutory policies in place and ensure that all staff receive regular training so they are confident in recognising concerns and know how to respond appropriately. Our commitment is to provide a safe, supportive environment where the wellbeing of every child is at the heart of all we do.
Ofsted report:’ Keeping pupils safe is at the forefront of everyone’s work. Staff are alert, take concerns seriously and report them swiftly. Leaders take prompt and appropriate action, when it is needed. They are extremely knowledgeable about the community and any local safeguarding risks. Leaders work closely with external agencies to ensure that pupils and their families receive the support they need to stay safe.’
