  • PSHE - Personal, Social and Health Education

Our PSHE curriculum is designed to provide pupils with essential opportunities to develop strategies and skills that equip them both physically and emotionally for effective learning. Following the Jigsaw framework, the curriculum promotes holistic development, enabling children to navigate social and emotional challenges with resilience.

We strongly believe in providing a curriculum where pupils feel seen and see others. Our curriculum is further supported through each year groups' recommended reads; each having ten books from the 'Windows and Mirrors' book list which we have attached below.

The introduction of the No Outsiders programme in the Autumn term of 2025 will further enhance the curriculum, fostering an inclusive environment that encourages respect and understanding amongst peers. This initiative aligns seamlessly with our whole school vision, which prioritises creating opportunities for children to feel seen and to acknowledge the experiences of others, thereby nurturing a sense of belonging and community within our school.

Our work on developing pupils' understanding and awareness was recognised by Ofsted who reported 'The school’s work to promote pupils’ personal development is exceptional. The curriculum has been well-designed to help pupils understand how to maintain their physical and mental health'.
